About NITNational Institute Of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar) , an Institute of National Importance under the NIT Act was established in 1967 as a Regional Engineering College (REC), Silchar. NIT Silchar is situated on the banks of river Barak. In year 2002, it was upgraded to the status of an NIT from a Regional Engineering College(REC). NIT Silchar is situated on a sprawling campus spread over 600 acres {2.43 km2} of land on the outskirts of Silchar amid breathtaking scenery. The applicants are requested to apply in prescribed Forms enclosed herewith furnishing Biodata as (1) Name, (2) Father's Name, (3) Full Address (Present & Permanent), (4) Education Qualification, (5) Experience, (6) SC/ST?OBC Certificate, (7) No-objection certificate from their present employer. (8) Self attested passport size-photograph (9) Contact Number and other requirements mentioned in the Form. a.
